Tour description in short

Location of Huai Kha Khaeng wildlife sanctuary on the map of Thailand

Our 3-day tour in Huai Kha Khaeng is all about wildlife watching. We will spend quite a lot of time in a wildlife observation tower. But other activities on our trip include game drives and also some hiking.

We stay in a basic resort outside the reserve, and might do some night driving to spot nocturnal wildlife in the forested areas outside the park boundaries.

Why our 3-day tour?

If waiting several hours in a wildlife observation tower is not your thing, this might not be the best tour destination for you. But if you are into that, our 3-day wildlife tour in Huai Kha Khaeng will be a great experience.

Even if sightings are almost unheard of, just being in the habitat of the Indochinese Tiger, is extremely thrilling. Often, we encounter pugmarks, scratches, and scrapes; that alone is worth the trip.

This tour is especially interesting for wildlife enthusiasts who have already been on our wildlife trips in the other parks. There are various species here, that are not easily seen elsewhere. You will love it!

Night walk in Bangkok

Tour description in short

Location of Bangkok on the map of Thailand

Our night walk in Bangkok is as the name suggests, a walk in a green part of the city whilst searching the critters, especially reptiles, that thrive here.

With flashlights we scan the bushes, trees, water puddles, etc. to try and spot the nocturnal wildlife that still survives in this concrete jungle.

Why our night walks?

The mega city Bangkok is not only home to a lot of people. There is a whole natural ecosystem that has found a way to coexist and even thrive in harmony with the huge human population. And no, it is not just rats and cockroaches. There are all sorts of cool critters calling this city their home. Especially the amazing reptiles are well represented.

This night herping tour is great for anyone with interest in the natural world, as well as experienced herpers with specific snake or other herpetofauna targets.

Our wildlife watching tours in Thailand

Thailand has a great biodiversity. And even though it is not so well known for it, Thailand is actually a great country for wildlife watchers. It might not be as easy as the savannahs in Africa, you actually have to put some effort in it, but in our opinion that makes Thailand more rewarding. And in the right national parks you have a good chance to see a fair bit of animals.

These wildlife watching tour packages have a more general focus on wildlife. We basically look at everything that moves, from mammals to insects, reptiles to birds, everything!

A large number of our tours take place in some of Thailand's largest national parks. But there is a whole variety of destinations. A much less obvious destination is for example right in the middle of the capital city, Bangkok. You will be surprised what survives there.

Each destination will have its own commonly encountered animals. The same species might occur elsewhere, but might not be as easily seen elsewhere. Combining multiple destinations will no doubt increase the number of species you see on your travels in Thailand.

When is the best time for tours in Thailand?

Hog Deer are a common sight in Huai Kha Khaeng

Especially for general wildlife watching trips it is very hard to say what is the best time. Surely some species might be easier to find during for example the wet season or the dry season. But over all, every season is worthwhile for its own reasons.

In other words, we do not really have a specific time of year to recommend.

How much does a tour cost?

The rates can be found on the tour package webpages. All the wildlife watching tour packages can be found at the top of this page. The button below will take you there.
