Dear Tontan travel, Thank you and Ryan for the photos. We had an excellent 2 days with Ryan. We have travelled around the world for many years and done many trips with guides {including in Khao Yai}. Ryan is absolutely in our top 3. Good explanations, easy-going and till the last minutes of the trips he kept looking for something interesting to show us. Very gentle, relaxed driving style. We also liked it very much that he took us on trails where we did not see other tourist. And once again thank you for taking the effort to match us in a trip even though you were fully booked. We had a wonderful trip. Our driver picked us up early and drove us to Kui Buri where we met our guide who was amazing. Her English was good (self taught!) and she was very informative, answering all our questions and gave us lots of additional information too. We were lucky enough to see 25 elephants at 3 different locations and we had a great trip. I can highly recommend!

What an amazing adventure. Our guide, Run, was so enthusiastic and friendly. With his keen eye for spotting wildlife and his telescopic lens, we managed to see many many exciting animals and birds. We were even lucky enough to spot a herd of elephants at a salt lick. So amazing. Thank you Tontan travel for making this day one of the best highlights of our trip to Thailand.

I joined the night tour in Bangkok for four nights from 1/7 to 4/7. The service was excellent. The guide had been very energetic and worked tirelessly to find my target species. He also has in-depth knowledge on the species in the region. Highly recommended! A total of 27 species of herps were seen in the four nights: 1. Asian Common Toad (Duttaphrynus melanostictus) 2. **Review for TonTan Travel and Guide Bank** I had the pleasure of joining a herping tour in Bangkok with TonTan Travel, guided by Bank, and it was an exceptional experience. We met at 7 PM and spent the evening exploring southeastern Bangkok, walking along canals and roads until midnight, searching for reptiles and amphibians among the grasses, vines, trees, and waterways. Bank, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He made the evening enjoyable with his insights on wildlife and engaging conversations about our shared interests. He was easy to talk to and very nice, making the experience even more memorable. TonTan Travel was excellent in arranging everything, with prompt and efficient email communication. Their organization made the whole process smooth and worry-free. If you're a fan of reptiles and amphibians, I highly recommend TonTan Travel and Bank as your guide. My three days in Thailand were wonderful. The organisation of the trip was faultless - the driver to and from Bangkok to the lodge was prompt and very professional. The guide Mong was absolutely wonderful - he was very skilled and professional and worked very hard to find me the birds I wanted to see. He was great company. Son, our driver was also very skilled and charmingly courteous. He is also a very good bird-spotter! Baan Maka was an excellent lodge - thank you for recommending it. I have no hesitation in recommending your services to other travellers.

Bank was absolutely the best guide to do this tour with! I was fascinated by doing a herping tour in an urban environment. We barely started and there was a white-lipped viper! 10 snakes, 2 owls, a turtle, lizards, arachnids hunting, a stick insect, a darn cute rat that posed for a photo… and then we were done before I knew it. This is a tour I will repeat. Thanks Bank.

Great experience. Mong (guide) and Son (driver) were fantastic. We saw so much and I really could have done a week with these guys easily. Gibbons, macaques, lemurs, elephant, and so much more. I learned a lot. Look forward to next time.

Loved it. Transfers were flawless. Great communication before the trip. When other client got ill and had to cancel at the last minute they responded well. Having accommodation recommendations was a lifesaver. The guide, Alex, was very good. Only recommendation is a separate driver is needed for the tour. I could ride in the cab since there was just me but otherwise whoever was in the back could not ask questions or help spot in time for the guide/driver to react. I will recommend.

If I had to resume the "night walk in Bangkok" we made was just amazing! We were pleased with our guide, Palm, he’s knowledgeable with snakes and good with the area. We managed 15 snakes from 7 different species. we also founded some tokay geckos, frogs and many other animals : That was awsome! I use to practice herping for many years now and this tour was one of the best I ever made! So a big Thanks to Palm, I'll recommend him for sure!

We had a great time with tontan travel. We were with our 2-year-old daughter and because of that we could not do all the walks. But Mr. M came up with other great options. Mr. M knows a lot about the animals. And he is good with children! He also took beautiful pictures of us during the tour so that we will never forget it. It was amazing! Thanks Mr. M for the good times.

Our two day tour in Khao Yao National Park was a highlight of our Thailand visit. Our guide Tata was excellent. He ensured we saw a variety of animals including elephants, Hornbills, the Lar Gibbon and a water dragon to name a few. Tata’s English was very good and he was always conscious of our well being and safety. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tata as a guide when you are visiting the park.

We had a fantastic time on our trip. Having a private guide for 3 days was brilliant. Our guide was very knowledgeable and showed us loads of great wildlife at a pace that worked for us. We saw gibbons, hornbills and elephants. Amongst loads of other wildlife, owls, monitor lizards, snakes, lots of birds. Really great trip and thoroughly recommend to anyone else considering it. Thank you!

My three day wildlife tour of Khao Yai was the highlight of my four months in Southeast Asia. My (official, qualified) park guide, Jum, was exceptional, able to spot all sorts of wildlife that I would never have seen on my own. She also had an excellent telescope that I was able to put my iPhone up against the eyepiece of and take great zoomed in photographs of creatures in distant trees. We saw all sorts! From dragonflies and tree lizards to hornbills, gibbons and elephants. Astonishing scenery too. I cannot recommend this tour enough for wildlife fans, like myself, who easily filled the three days in the park.

Here is a draft review for the ornithologist guide Alex: We had a fantastic birdwatching experience in Khao Yai National Park thanks to our guide, Alex. We hired Alex for three days to help us spot and photograph the park's elusive bird species, and his expert guidance proved invaluable. Alex has an incredible depth of knowledge about the local birds and their habits. He knew all the best hides and vantage points to stake out, often spotting camouflaged birds that the untrained eye would completely miss. His unflappable style and tenacious searching revealed birds for us that we never would have found on our own, which allowed us to get some truly wonderful photos. The density of birds is not high in the park and many species are very shy, so having Alex's expertise was crucial. He took us to productive spots and waited patiently for the birds to emerge. His enthusiasm was contagious - when he did spot something, his excitement motivated all of us. I can't recommend Alex highly enough to any birder or photographer looking to maximize sightings and photo opportunities in Khao Yai National Park. His skill, experience, and commitment to finding every bird made our trip a huge success. With Alex's guidance, even novice birders will come away with sightings they never expected thanks to his keen eyes and deep knowledge of the local avifauna.

Our tour guide, Run, picked us up at our hotel. When we arrived at Khao Yai he explained how everything would work. He took extra care pointing out wildlife that we would never have seen, including a green viper hidden in a bush. He went that extra mile twice taking us to places where elephants had just been spotted which meant we got to see a wild herd roaming the pasture plus we also saw a bull elephant come out of one side of the bush and walk down the road looking for a way into the other side of the bush. He was a very attentive and knowledgeable guide

A very interesting experience finding snakes and other reptiles and amphibians in the heart of Bangkok. We saw White-lipped Pit Vipers, Vine snakes, Reticulated Pythons and more. Our guide Palm was very good and easy to chat with. We had a third person on the tour with us that had never been herping before. By the end, he was thrilled with his experience and a newly converted herper.

I wish we could have gotten the 3 day tour but we booked late. We did not want the tour to end. Next time we will know to book further out. Our tour guide, Bank, was incredible. We did 2 days of touring the park with a night of herping in between. That first day/night combo Bank clocked a solid 15 hours finding us mammals, birds, and reptiles. He never stops looking and is amazing at finding the little creatures. You can tell Bank enjoys the wildlife as much as we do. He is also very personable and easy to talk with. At the end we felt like we had a new brother in our family. We will be back in the future and I hope Bank is still available when we do.

I can't say enough good things about the Bangkok walk and the Kaeng Krachan two-day wildlife trips we took recently! We saw so many species of reptiles and amphibians, and our guide Bank was incredibly adept at finding them and at identifying them all. We also saw a wonderful array of mammals and birds which Bank was just as good, not just at identifying, but at educating us about their natural history! He was a joy to be around, absolutely passionate about the wildlife who call these places home. There were some long days but the experience was very relaxed and I was so sad when our tour was over. I highly recommend this tour and hope to plan a longer trip in the future. I did many things on my recent trip to Thailand, but this tour was the highlight! Thanks so much.

A thousand thank yous to Bank for a wonderful 2 days....had we known what a fantastic experience this would be, we would have booked for longer.

Bank, even after a wasp sting, is such an amazing guide. He works so hard to find all creatures, great and small, and his excitement at the tiniest gecko is contagious. When we walked away last night, my son said, "I'm gonna miss him" and that is the sign of a great guide. His passion for herping is palpable.

I am so grateful for this experience. My 15 year old has long been a lover of all reptiles and invertebrates and experiences like these are good for his soul.

Our 2 day herping tour in and around Kaeng Krachan was absolutely amazing. Thanks to the exceptional eyesight of our guides Ton and Bank we ended up with many sightings of 11 different species of snakes,various lizards,mammals,tarantulas and incredible birds. The whole tour was carried out with a great sense of fun,the Photographic opportunities were unbelievable. Special encounters include beautiful Pope's Green Pit Viper, male and female, and awesome King Cobra. We may have arrived as guests but feel we definitely left as friends. I simply can't recommend Tontan Wildlife Tours too highly.

Our family had a wonderful experience during the 3 day safari. Tan was great in helping to arrange airport pickup and return to Bangkok. The safari guide that was arranged for us was personable, knowledgeable, and took great care of us. He was very patient and allowed us to take our time, stop for every bird, and enjoy nature. We were lucky and saw an incredible amount of wildlife, particularly gibbons and hornbills...but also a lot more. Thanks, Tan!

Alex was our guide in a 2-day wildlife tour at Kao Yai National Park. He was very calm, patient and atentive. We were lucky to see many hornbills, at least three families of gibbons, porcupines, lizards, deers, gaus and elephants twice! This wildlife tour is totally worth. I highly recommend it!

Outstanding tour operator! Communication was excellent, logistics were clear, vehicles & equipment great, guides spoke fluent English & were knowledgeable & experienced. I have some amazing memories & amazing photos to bring home with me. Highly recommended!

Our experience with Tontan Travel has been just perfect. Tan was available and responsive for the first moment we contacted her. We needed to postpone the trip for metereological reasons and she was always helpful and made things easy to us. We spent 2,5 days in Khao Yai with our daughter (7 years-old) and the tour was one of the best experiences that we have had in our lives. Alex was the perfect guide for us, always kind, gentle and helpful. We spotted a lot of animals and learn about them with him. He showed a lot of care and respect for the environment and the animals and this is one of the things that we most loved. We hebben enorm genoten van de 3-daagse wildlife tour in Khao Yai. Tourguide Lek stemde voor vertrek onze wensen af, wat willen we graag zien? Voor ons stonden de Gibbons op nummer 1 en daar hebben we volop van kunnen genieten, 3 dagen op rij nog wel! We hebben magische momenten beleefd, prachtige hornbills gespot en zelfs mogen aanschouwen hoe een vrouwtje onder toeziend oog van het mannetje het nest betreed. We zijn 2x wilde olifanten tegen gekomen en we hebben gezien hoe een slang een hagedis vangt. Allemaal dankzij het scherpe oog en ervaring van Lek, nogmaals dank! Khao Yai is een prachtig park met een grote diversiteit aan wildlife. De tour is perfect georganiseerd, een volgende keer boeken we zeker weer via TonTanTravel :)

Amazing trip with expert guide Jum. Open trucks gave a nice safari feeling. The trips had a nice variety of experiences. Full days are bit long. I would definitely come again but than for several trips of five six hours, not 12. The tour guide adjusted the trip to our specific needs. It always felt safe. Good food is provided with nice stops. January is Scandinavian summer. Need some warm clothes for windy days. Choose a hotel not too far from the park entrance. Otherwise it is lots of extra driving time. We swam in a beautiful river close to the source. Saw bats coming out of a mountain in swarms, watched nightlife animals, and had some relaxed hikes filled with impressions. It was reasonably priced.

Wat een fantastische ervaring hebben wij gehad! Onze gids mr. Apple heeft ons niet alleen verrast met zijn kennis van alle wilde dieren, maar ons ook enorm laten lachen met zijn heerlijke humor. We hadden geluk die dag met het zien van neushoornvogels, verschillende gibbons, een wilde olifant, een slang, stekelvarkens en ga zo maar door. De nachtsafari was leuk, maar overdag vonden wij persoonlijk het leukst. Vooraf was ik sceptisch over het huren van een gids, maar zonder gids hadden wij absoluut geen dieren gezien. Going to the Khao Yai National Park was my idea. My son played along knowing afterwards we would engage in something he wanted to do. However, he enjoyed it so much we both agreed visiting Khao Yai was a highlight of our vacation in Southeast Asia. Tontan Travel was extremely helpful in organizing our time. Ton was communicative and answered our questions quickly. We made a special request to see some flying foxes outside the park and he helped organize it. We saw a colony with hundreds of them roosting outside a temple in Ayutthaya. It was incredible. we highly recommend it. Our time in Khao Yai was amazing. I know wildlife viewing includes a lot of luck but our guide, Tata, was knowledgeable and apparently lucky. We saw everything we wanted and learned a lot about the local flora and fauna. We highly recommend both Tontan Travel and Tata our guide. Thank you for such a great time.

We just arrived back in Germany and wanted to say thank you again! 🙂 We enjoyed the wildlife tour with our guide "Mong" so much and it will stay an awesome memory for us. I took three-day tour on 1-3 December 2022. This was excellent, from organization and transfers and animal viewing. I have seen almost exactly what I wanted - 2 species of gibbons, giant black squirrels, Himalayan squirrels, two species of hornbills, sambar deer, barking deer, gaurs, jackals, porcupines and even elephants (although I frankly cannot understand all this excitement about elephants - it is Thailand, isn't it? - the country is full of elephants, although we are talking about wild ones here). Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to see binturong, serow, leopard cat and otter, but this is not fault of either guide or Tontan Travel.

Had the absolute best time during our tour with your fantastic team! From the pickup to the trekking to the delicious food, we could not have been happier! We were able to capture some amazing photos and experience so many animals - including a day time porcupine, many civet cats and jackals, pit vipers and more! We will definitely be recommending you to any friends who plan to visit Thailand, and will revisit hopefully in the near future!

My husband and I came here as part of our honeymoon, and we are so happy we did. Our guide Beer made our experience incredible. He's been doing this for 17 years, and you can definitely tell by the knowledge and skill he exhibited on our trip, not to mention he's pretty funny and his English was also very good. We felt super lucky to have him. We *almost* saw an elephant (Beer spotted it but it turned and went a different direction before we were able to see,) but we saw gibbons, great hornbill, golden jackal, sambar deer, barking deer, porcupines, scorpions, a pit viper, a cobra, and of course plenty of macaques monkeys. We also learned about a lot of the plants/trees in the forest. We were surprised that the food provided was great, too! We would definitely come back for another tour!

What a great tour and great experience! A huge thank you to our guide Apple, excellent English, funny and accommodating all our needs. We saw incredible wildlife, the tour was organized in every detail . Definitely recommend this.

Excellent communication and organising. Smooth collection from BKK Airport to my jungle lodge. There 3 days of adventure with the super excellent Tah Tah saw most everything I wanted and he was on time informative and fun All transport safe and clean with snack and water. Meals delicious and catered to veggo needs. Transport back with out a hitch. You won't go wrong and try to get Tah Tah.

We had a great experience at our last day in Thailand. Tata, the guide, was really nice. He took us to a short and beautiful trail (2.5 hours) in the jungle. A short visit to a waterfall and then we happened to see elephants in the wild from really close. Thanks a lot!

High praise for last night. The guide was excellent (and a nice guy)! We found 21 snakes, including Trimeresurus albolabris and T. macrops. Looking forward to being a repeat customer!

We have had an AMAZING time in Khao Yai National Park! We have seen a lot of animals and were lucky to closely follow a gibbonfamily with hiking. Leg and Tata, thanks for sharing your knowledge and being part of these special memories. Keep doing your work this passionately guys. Due to that, we‘ll never forget these valuable moments in the park.

De tour is prima bevallen. Gids Bank was supervriendelijk, behulpzaam en heeft echt enorm zijn best gedaan om dieren te spotten. Uiteindelijk diverse pit vipers (bamboeadders), vleermuizen, wandelende takken, spinnen en een waterschildpad gevonden. Bank was zelf erg teleurgesteld dat hij geen python kon vinden om aan ons te laten zien. Hij was zeer gedreven! Bank’s Engels was voldoende voor de tour en voor wat eenvoudige conversatie, hier nog wat in verbeteren zou denk ik wel goed zijn.

T.a.v. de verwachtingen bij de tour; ik had verwacht echt in de stad (vanuit het hotel.) de wandeling te starten/doen (Lumphini bijvoorbeeld), het was nu nog bijna 45 min. rijden naar de locatie. (De beschrijving op de website die ik vandaag lees lijkt geüpdatet t.o.v. een aantal weken terug, of ik heb deze toen niet goed gelezen…) Het is bijzonder om te ervaren hoe Bangkok ook is (ver van de wolkenkrabbers). We had an amazing experience in Khao Yai. Although it was raining all day, our guide did the very best to make it a memorable tour. Thanks to her, we saw a lot of animals we wouldn't have spotted otherwise. She really helped us to show them, so we could take beautiful pictures. I even won a photo competition from a travel magazine with my picture of 2 great hornbills!

I was with the guide couple "Jay & Ishidra" It was a fantastic tour. So many animals and amazing landscapes in this park. They where super nice, patient and competent people, that knew the nationalpark very well and where the animals had their daily routine. Plus they have such good eyes to spot all the wildlife for you. Also if you like me, is a photographer and need the time with the animals. They will give you that time! Would highly recommend this tour and ask specific for these guides.

Had an amazing day in Khao Yai with our guide, Tata. He was a fantastic guide - friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, patient, and great at explaining the things we saw to us in both English and Thai. Thanks to his excellent wildlife-spotting skills we saw and photographed a variety of wildlife, including gibbons, hornbills, and other birds. Getting the opportunity to watch a bear in a tree high above a valley was an unexpected and unforgettable highlight. There is no way we would have seen much at all had we been on our own. We also loved that Tata was flexible and didn't need to stick to a fixed itinerary, instead conforming the trip to what we told him we hoped to see and do. We highly recommend the tour - our only regret was not being able to stay for a night tour and second night! We really appreciated Tontan Travel's quick response to our last-minute booking request and questions. The guesthouse pickup was exactly on time and lunch was quite good. We're already talking taking another tour with Tontan at Khao Yai or another park as soon as we have the chance.

Our guide had the eyes of a hawk and knew where to go to see the great variety of wildlife in Khao Yai. We had a great time and experienced the Thai rainforest at its best.

Gibbons, elephants, all three hornbills, snakes, insects, Trogons and numerous other birds. And on the night safari masked civet, porcupine and jackal. A truly great three days.

I really enjoyed the trip. The guides are professional and passionate. I really recommend. Thank you! :)

Me, my wife and my 14 years old son were more than satisfied with a one-day Khao Yai tour led by the guide Waroon. TonTan is a serious tour organizer and Waroon an excellent guide and wildlife lover. They delivered everything we came to Khao Yai for - the most amazing wildlife that still inhabits the Thai wild: elephants, gibbons, hornbills, pit vipers, owls, kingfishers, ... you name it. We are extremely happy and satisfied with your travel. Tontan travel arranged our jungle trekking trip very clear, detail and professional.

They provide us with leech-protection socks, water, sweets and of course, talented-friendly guide.

Our guide, Khun Tata is very helpful, professional, friendly, warm, well-explained and he knew very well the jungle condition and the best spot where the animals are. His knowledge about the park and nature amazed us.

Me and my husband really enjoyed the trekking and we managed to spot a macaque just when we arrived in the park and when we started to explore deeper inside the forest, Khun Tata managed to spot a group of hornbills, black giant squirrel, gibbons, white-hand gibbons, deers, beautiful butterflies, crazy looking spider. The forest with its giant trees and plants are stunning. Me and my husband really enjoy the trekking not to mention the delicious lunch. We were lucky the weather was friendly. I have to admit that being able to witness all those beautiful creatures in the forest has completed our trip in Khao Yai.

It was our first trip outside home after being locked for 5 months because of the pandemic. We were just moved to Thailand in the beginning of the year from France and was planning to visit the park but we have to postponed and we knew now that our waited time is not for nothing.

We will certainly come back to Khao Yai and planning another trip with you again. We would 100% recommended Tontan travel to our family and friends!

We had a brilliant 2 day and 1 night stay. Mong was a wonderful guide,taking time to check in with us, answer questions and share so much knowledge about the birds,animals and surrounding areas.

We went on 3 great hikes, saw different species of monkeys, lizards,snakes, spiders, deer and even a bear!

They sorted out all of our meals, put our tents up (with blow up airbeds) and they were a good size. I would say bring a sheet of sleeping bag liner as it's not and the sleeping bags are made for warmer weather!
It was a great experience.

We've booked a 1,5 day tour with TonTan travel. The first half day, we were picked up by Jay and his wife, and they took us for a great swim and to check out an amazing bat cave. They were very kind, and provided us with everything (including some sweets!) we needed. The second day, we've spent a whole day in the national park with our amazing guide: Tata. It was a wonderful experience! We were very impressed by the knowledge and feeling with nature of Tata. We've had a great day, we've seen and learned many things in and about nature, and had a good laugh in between. It was a great, we'll never forget this experience. Great organisation, even greater guide. we definitely recommend it/ him! :-)

We booked a 1-day trip in Khao Yai with the tour agency “Tontan travel”. The tour was a well organized and low-gear walk into the forest, for which only long trousers and hiking shoes are necessary. We booked a private tour and actually it was the case: the guide came to pick us up at our place in Pak Chong, the city nearby, and stayed with us until the end. All the guides of the other tours were paying attention not to tour on the same path as ours, so not to create big groups and scare animals. We had a lot of luck and we were able to spot from the very beginning of the tour a king cobra (2 meters long), some hornbills, gibbons, a horned lizard and a white snake. This was actually because of our guide, Mr. Apple, who was really prepared and brought us in the right spots at the right time. He also provided water, snacks, anti-leech socks and binoculars. He has also been very smart in suggesting to change our plan: because of the heavy rain we swapped the night safari with the bats cave, an impressive spectacle totally worth the visit! He also took care of our meals, bringing us to have dinner at the night market in Pak Chong.
We really advise you to ask Tontan travel for Mr.Apple as your guide!

I recently concluded an extraordinary ecological field tour with Tontan Travel (May 13-19, 2019). The tour was phenomenal...there's no other way to say it. It exceeded my expectations in so many ways. In my case, my major interest was observing/photographing insects, other arthropods, and herpetofauna (particularly snakes) - the tours gave me the opportunity to learn so much about these organisms in Thailand. Additionally, the tour was flawlessly organized and executed. Without a doubt, I will be returning next year! What a great time.

Tontan were very helpful when booking the 2 day trip in Khao Yai. We got prompt emails. We had a guide called Apple. He tried very hard to make our trek in the jungle rewarding. Unfortunately it rained the second day so we did not see much but our trek was very good although some of our group who had not been in the jungle before found it very tiring. I asked Tontan to give us a long trek in the jungle and they certainly did, maybe a little bit too long. However we still saw Hornbills, black giant squirrel, gibbons . On the night safari we were lucky enough to see a elephant grazing, a porcupine and civet cat.
On the whole we were lucky to see animals on the first day. Some of our party said that they would like to have learnt more about the plants and ecosystems in the park especially when the rain spoiled the second day. Overall, you can see the park is a stunning place and well worth coming for a few days if you can afford it.

From the very start, Tontan Travel were so great in helping us plan our trip to Thailand. Once we finally made a decision on when to go and which tours to do, they organised our taxis for us, from Bangkok to Khao Yai, Khao Yai to Kaeng Krachan, and back to Bangkok at the end. This really took the hassle out of the trip and made it so much easier for us to enjoy - and the taxi drivers were always early and had a smile on their faces!

On our 2 day Wildlife tour in Khao Yai, we were very fortunate to see a male elephant quite early on, just strolling along the side of the road! Within a few paces, he was completely invisible within the trees - amazing for something so big! That first day we went on to have some amazing sightings - we saw a few stunning Great Hornbills, lots of gibbons communicating with each other (great calls!), sambar deer, dhole. Once on foot, we were blown away to see a Vogel's Pit Viper curled up after a feed. Absolutely stunning! We also saw a large scorpion and lots of crazy looking spiders, more gibbons returned for some great photo opportunities as well! On the way back to the hotel we saw what could only have been millions of bats!! On day 2, we saw lots of gorgeous Asian Water Dragons, loads of beautiful butterflies, and 2 more dhole dashing past unexpectedly!! On a walk by ourselves to a waterfall, we spotted a juvenile Large Eyed Pit Viper - there's something very rewarding about spotting a snake yourself!!! On our night drive, we saw some common Civets and 2 porcupines! We also saw a Jackal!!

On our first day in Kaeng Krachan, Tony and Tan picked us up from our hotel, and conversation flowed straight away - we knew this was going to be a great 3 days! The first snake we saw was a large Reticulated Python, but he was in shed, so not looking his best! After seeing a few stunning vine snakes, Ton spotted another Retic sunning himself and looking absolutely incredible! He was the perfect model for photos! Tan spotted a juvenile Vine Snake, which was great to see as they are a different colour when young. Tan then spotted a Red-necked Keelback - one of my favourite spots of the trip!!
On our night walk, some gorgeous frogs came out, as did the White-lipped Green Pit Vipers, which were amazing to see. Lots of other interesting bugs and spiders out and about as well!

The next day, we had a great trek along and across the stream, seeing loads of cool frogs, monitors and geckos, along with a few more Vine Snakes. As the second base of the park was closed at the time, after lunch Ton and Tan suggested a new location outside of the park with potential of finding a yet undescribed species of Pit Viper. As we headed out of the park Ton spotted a Golden Flying Tree Snake scaling a near smooth tree. Awesome to see! After a 2.5 hour drive we reached our destination just as the sun went down. It was very humid and the air was thick with mosquitoes. Within minutes we found our first snake - a gorgeous Mountain Bronzeback. After that it went a little quiet but after about an hour it started to get interesting and at one point we walked through a scattering of Fireflies. Whilst looking at a Cave Gecko in some detail Ton spotted a Common Wolf Snake, which was one of the species on my husband's "wish list”. He posed for some photos and was very calm and well behaved.

Shortly after, we heard the cry “Snake!!”. Ton had done it! He'd found the elusive Viper. It was just finishing its shed and so was looking stunning in its new skin. We also saw 2 Long-Nosed Vine Snakes. We were doing really well!!

On the way to a restaurant for dinner we stopped at a spot in the shrimp farms to look for dog-faced water snakes. This was a great spot for the snakes to catch fish and shrimps in the man-made pools and they were obviously thriving there as we saw 3. They were so different to the other snakes we had seen!

On the final day, we drove to Pala-U Waterfall at Kaeng Krachan, where we had a short downpour. This brought out the amphibians and we saw a Flying Lizard.
It was an eventful day in that we were chased by Macaques and a bull elephant but, unfortunately no snakes! Heading back to base, we were literally minutes away when, in the head lights of the car, we spotted a huge snake on the side of the road. An awesome 2 metre long Burmese Python. A fabulous way to end the trip!

We literally cannot fault any aspect of Tontan Travel - their knowledge is incredible, but they are always learning and new species are always being discovered, sometimes by them! They are fun to be around, easy to talk to, and Ton and Tan are a great partnership! We will not hesitate to recommend you to friends and we will definitely be planning another trip with you in the future, which we will look forward to immensely!

We saw elephants, wild dogs, porcupine, jackal, Civet, sambars, barking deer, macaques and Gibbons! So much luck, some of these animals are so rare, that even Wan had only twice or as in case of the jackal never seen them before!

I came to this tour with expectations so high that I would have thought it would be difficult to exceed them. Yet somehow, TonTan managed it.
Beer, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable, and had an amazing ability to pick a path through seemingly trackless jungle.
He, along with the excellent driver whose name I should have written down (I'm so sorry about that...lovely guy- very patient) made us feel welcome and safe at all times. The driver even seemed more amused than annoyed by my penchant of jumping out of the truck before he could open the back every time Beer found something interesting...which happened a lot.

I feel very lucky to have been paired with a guide who shares my passion for herps, despite me never mentioning this when making the reservation. Even better, he still took the time to acquaint us with so many diverse inhabitants of the jungle, from Lantern Bugs and Sphinx Moths to Kingfishers and White-handed Gibbons. Best of all, he expressed the same enthusiasm for these things that we were feeling, despite no doubt seeing them far more frequently than we do.

What really stays with me, though, as much as all the wonderful things we got to see on our too-brief two day tour in Khao Yai, is that by watching Beer in action, I feel I learned to see better, and to be a better naturalist, than I was before. TonTan is a tour company, surely, but they are also a lifelong education company, and for that I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I and my wife enjoyed beautiful forest and birds in Khao Yai NP with guiding of Mr.Jay. It was really lucky to have seen a colorful Trongos through telescope in deep forest and flying a couple of Great Hornbill. Also have seen many birds such as Bee-eater, Bulbul, Barbet, Roller, Coucal, Lapwing, Egret, Heron and so on. Next time we will try to spot elephant and gibbons. Thank you so much for good arrangement.

I thought that the tour was mindblowingly fantastic. Tata was a very knowledgeable, passionate, fun and humourous guide, I felt that he really wanted us to make the most of our time in seeing the best of Khao Yai's natural beauty, and succeeded in doing so.
He told us tales of his own life (including his only encounter with a wild tiger) and showed us so many species of animals with a lot of information about them. He was adept at spotting them and taking great photos of them with our cameras through his excellent telescope. Whatever names he was unsure of, he had a good guidebook to show us the animals and their appearances.

We saw more than 70 species of wildlife in the 4 days we were there, and every day was special for some reason. The variety and beauty of birdlife was astonishing, and we were very lucky to see elephants 3 times. The major highlight interestingly, was when we were camping free on our last night in the park and went for a morning walk after dawn, before Tata met us. We spotted a large pack of dholes chasing a sambar stag across the hills. This was so exciting, and would never have been seen had we not chosen to camp the night before---we now wish we had camped another night! The major highlight with Tata (very hard choice, as there are so many instances) was spying a mother gaur and her calf on the last day--Tata himself said we very lucky as he had rarely seen them himself in years!

The food options in Khao Yai were limited but always excellent and authentic, and the park was well-maintained with generally good discipline (although occasionally I saw too many people going too close to elephants). This was the longest and best wildlife safari I have ever been on, and I hope to be back with your company either in Khao Yai or the other parks you visit (particularly Kaeng Krachan and Hua Kha Khaeng!).

We were 4 people having a very nice Tour to Kui Buri 15/02/2018. We had a very dedicated guide and an exellent driver and spotter. We had the luck to see 4 Elephants and a glimpse of 3 Gaurs.

However we found it annoying to have to pay for 2 transfers to the park. The first transfer was on a day with 58 mm rain and thunderstorms. We found it very risky to enter the park sitting in an open vehicle, so we returned. Afterwards you informed us, that the park was closed for several days after due to flood which had damaged the road. So I think we took the descision, which should have been taken by you. It would have been good service if we had been told of the weather conditions before we were picked up by Tontan Travels. We wasted money and time. That's bad for the nature.

Consider it as positive remarks to improve the adventure.

Ongeveer 2 weken geleden, arriveerden 9 anderen en ik in Khao Yai. We werden opgehaald door Tata, een zeer vriendelijke gids. Ik heb prachtige dieren, onaangetaste natuur en heerlijke rust kunnen ervaren. Dit mede het feit dat Tata onze gids was.

Onze gids, (Tata) was echt fantastisch!
Naast het feit dat we veel geluk hebben gehad en ontzettend veel wildlife hebben gezien, heeft hij echt alles gedaan om onze tocht zo spannend, enerverend en leuk mogelijk te maken. (en hij is ook gewoon heel aardig)

Onze foto's zijn super, zoveel dieren!
Ook de nachtsafari was leuk, (python, stekelvarkens en luipaardkat).
De hike waarbij we de gibbons volgden en ze 2 meter boven ons hoofd slingerden zullen we nooit vergeten. Wat een ervaring.

Helaas geen olifanten, maar alle andere dieren en natuur die we hebben gezien, maakten dat meer dan goed! Wij zullen (een privé tour) via jullie zeker aanbevelen aan anderen.

I want to thank you for organizing our three day trip to khao yai national park.
Our guide Beer was wonderful. He spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable.

We told him that we liked reptiles and he went out of his way to find some for us. We saw 8 different snakes, at least 20 different lizards, and a crocodile. We also were able to see hornbills, gibbons, macaques, a male elephant, and signs of both black and sun bears. One of the most unique experiences was going to the cave to see thousands of bats roosting before they left for the evening to hunt for food.
It was a great time.

We had such an amazing time! It has been the highlight of our trip so far. We had an amazing guide and he really went out of his way to show us the different aspects of the park. We got to see way more than we expected to see, from elephants to butterfly's to crocodiles. He explained the lifestyles of the animals and also the plants in a fun way that intrigued us at every step on the way. And was more knowledgeable than we could have ever expected. He also had a great sense of humour and had amazing English capabilities. He went out of his way to help us experience the Thai jungle and understand the creatures. It was an unforgettable experience.

Furthermore, you as a company have been great to communicate with and have made the whole experience as a whole easier to manage and find our way, for example, we couldn't find our way in pak Chong and our accomodation found someone who could speak English to ring us back asap and explained how to get there in the quickest most affordable way (with several options).

So a big thanks from us kiwis and we will definitely be recommending your company to family and friends for the future.

We had an amazing wildlife trip during our stay in Khao Yai.
Our guide, Beer, was really good in finding all kinds of animals.
We could not leave him alone for five minutes, without him having found an animal.
He and the driver, Lom, did everything in their possibility to make our trip perfect.
We would not change a thing about it. It was definitely worth the money and we would do it again on a next trip. We would recommend this trip to everybody, who is spending some time in Khao Yai.
Our trip was definitely a once in a lifetme experience, thanks to the beauty of the jungle, the wild animals, but even more thanks to Beer, because he made us able to see all these great things.

I did a 3 day tour of Khao Yai last month with Tontan Travel. I could not have picked a better company.
From the first email to the end of the tour, they were responsive and helpful.

The first day of the tour, we met our guide, Tata. He was phenomenal. He knows the park and its inhabitants inside and out. When it became readily apparent to me, that I was not in as good a shape as I had hoped to be, and couldn't do some of the planned itinerary, he made the adjustments needed to help me see the most of the park. He was not at all upset when I had to move slower. Instead, he used the time to search for, and find more obscure forest residents, such as a scorpion that he coaxed out of its den. He did an excellent job of tracking and helping us locate and photograph Great Hornbills and White Handed Gibbons. He even followed a lead on some wild elephants. Those, unfortunately, we were unable to see, as they had run off into the jungle when it started raining, a few minutes before we got to their location. That aside, we saw an amazing array of wildlife. During the night safari, we saw more porcupines than I've ever seen in one place, and we saw 2 or 3 different species of serval.

I went into this tour, unsure what it would be like. It exceeded all of my dreams of what it would be. I would recommend the tour to anyone visiting Thailand. I will definitely be using Tontan's tours to explore some of the other national parks in Thailand on future visits.

Just to let you know I had a very successful trip with Beer again (2nd time I did a tour with him). He is an excellent guide and he guided us to see Black bear on two occasions in 3 days! A fantastic result as this species had been on my bucket list for 25 years!

The driver (sorry I don't know his name) is also very observant and quiet in the forest. They are a great team.

De tour van vandaag was helemaal perfect. Beer was een super gids, de communicatie met Tontan Travel iedere keer uitstekend verlopen. Kortom aanrader voor iedereen.

We booked the 4 day tour and eventually found this far too long for this park. There is very few wildlife. We walked 3.5 hours to 4 hours and saw for example a tree snake thats it not even a bird or beettle. We walked many different trails to find the animals. We were in the late afternoon sitting for an hour on the lookout tower staring at the beautiful surroundings perfect for waterbirds etc. we didn't see One animal!!! . My advice is do you want to spot animals don't go to Khao Yai its a very touristic Park. Our guide Jay did really 200% his best!! We visit the park a bit earlier in the morning, but this made no difference. I am very disappointed for the few animals we saw (Turtle, snake, gibbons, butterflies, one elephant and civetcat). I booked this tour, because I like to make photos of animals.

We recently spent almost two weeks with Tontan. Ton is a very knowledgable and enthusiastic herper and Tan is a most gracious and pleasant host. I highly recommend them and look forward to returning to Thailand for further adventures with them in the not-too-distant future

we zijn nu een weekje terug uit Thailand, een heerlijke vakantie en dito land. Ik zou je graag willen laten weten dat de tour in Kui Buri fantastisch was. Heel veel olifanten gezien, met als hoogtepunt twintig grazende olifanten met op de achtergrond 50 gaurs. Wat een bijzonder moment, alle toeristen (behalve wij) waren uit het park na zes uur en toen de rust was wedergekeerd kwamen de dieren tevoorschijn. Gelukkig sliepen we in het park zodat we dit konden meemaken. De overnachting was prima, feestmaal gemaakt door de ranger en tourguide. Mr Bill was een geweldige gids, wat een liefde en passie voor de natuur. Een dikke aanrader dus! Ook de tour in Khao Yai was prachtig, heel fijne tourguide en mooie dieren. Iets toeristischer maar desondanks mooie routes gelopen. Enige deceptie was de nighttour waarin we met acht auto’s achter elkaar aan reden om met een lamp te zoeken naar oplichtende ogen, door het lawaai niets gezien natuurlijk. Ondanks dat zijn we erg blij dat we dit mee hebben mogen maken, het was uitstekend geregeld. Waarbij ik (wij) nogmaals wil benadrukken dat de persoonlijke begeleiding in vooral de Kui Buri innemend was. Voor de toekomst het allerbeste en veel succes met je organisatie.

We had a wonderfull three days tour in Khao Yai, saw many monkeys, elephants, hornbills and even a crocodile and a bear. The lunches arranged by Nang were delicious.

I visited Khao Yai 2 weeks ago. I really loved it and I wanted to thank you and our guide 'Beer' for the awesome experience. In the annex you can find some photos of the animals we saw. They were taken by Beer. It was nice to learn how to take this beatifull pictures of animals. If you are interested I also have photos of white handed gibbons and a pileated gibbon. But they aren't of this quality because they were taken thrue a telelens with a phone.

Kui Buri Elephant Safari! What a fantastic afternoon in Kui Buri and a special thanks to Khun Bill and Khun Som who were our guides for the afternoon.

Seeing elephants, Gaur, wild boar, hornbills and Baya Weaver birds - all in one afternoon - WOW! Learning about the great conservation work that locals in partnership with Government and NGO's are achieving is fantastic - and all under the patronage of this Royal Project! Awesome!

Ik heb genoten van de tour. Wat een oog hebben die jongens voor reptielen zeg. Met 35 soorten herpetofauna in 3 dagen kan ik de tour alleen maar als zeer geslaagd beschouwen. Als kers op de taart ook nog een aantal otters en een olifant gezien, om maar niet te spreken over de vele vogels, gibbons etc.

Hartelijk dank voor alles, het was perfect geregeld. Ik zag dat jullie ook herping tours aanbieden voor Kaeng Krachan NP. Dat ga ik zeker in mijn achterhoofd houden voor later dit jaar.

Hello Ton,

we would like to take the opportunity to thank you and your/our guide (unfortunately I forgot the name - do you know who was it, so we maybe can mention it in a Tripadvisor recommendation) for this amazing two days. It have been two days far away from "mass tourism processing" as we've experienced it in Krabi (-> Island tour) and it were two very interesting, amazing but also relaxing days.

It was definitely the right decision to book a private tour, because it allowed us to be very flexible and hereby we could see many different kind of animals very closely.

Our guide gave us many information about the national park, the behaviour and characteristics of the animals and made many pictures for us. Furthermore (big plus, not expected) he knew almost all the names of the animals or trees in German (our mother tongue).

This Xmas holiday we did a two day tour with guide 'Beer' from Tontan in Khao Yai. It was a bull's eye decision.
Beer has an amazing eye for the many birds, mammals and reptiles in the park. Even from a riding car he'll find the tiniest snake *under* a leaf at the side of the road. And no matter how good an adult elephant can hide in the forest, Beer will spot 'em! (Or was it that big, wet fart of the elephant that gave it away ;-)

Vandaag was de laatste dag in het park.
Ondanks het feit dat een bezoek aan het park jammer genoeg maar een klein gedeelte van het park omvat, zijn we zeer tevreden. Tata is werkelijk een geweldige gids die ons heel veel heeft laten zien. Bovendien hadden we het geluk dat we een olifant gezien hebben.
Tata heeft bovendien veel humor en we hebben veel gelachen. Het is gewoon een geweldig aardige vent, die we ins ons hart hebben gesloten.
Daarom willen we jullie van harte bedanken voor het organiseren van ons bezoek aan het Khao Yai park en jullie zeer professionele aanpak.
Morgen vertrekken we richting oosten om een aantal oude Kmer-tempels te bezoeken.

Beste Tontan Travel en onze gids Ryan,

Normaal huren we nooit een gids maar we wilden graag zoveel mogelijk uit ons bezoek aan Khao Yai NP halen. Omdat de reviews erg positief zijn, hebben we voor TonTanTravel gekozen. We zijn uiteindelijk zeer aangenaam verrast door de goede organisatie, de aandacht en het enthousiasme van onze gids Ryan. Zonder hem hadden we lang niet zoveel dieren gezien. Ryan heeft letterlijk elk hoekje en gaatje bekeken om iets bijzonders te vinden. Hij gaf ons ruim de tijd om foto's te maken en deed zijn uiterste best om gehoor te geven aan onze wensen. Daarnaast hadden we ook een prettige chauffeur die rustig door het park reed en zorgde voor een comfortabele rit. Het enige dat voor ons geen meerwaarde had, was de nachtsafari, dit lag niet aan de gids maar aan de manier waarop het georganiseerd is. Al met al zijn we zeer tevreden en is het voor herhaling vatbaar.

Beste Ton en Tan,

Het is al weer even geleden maar we wilden jullie nog bedanken voor de 2 daagse tocht die we met jullie gedaan hebben in Khao Yai NP met onze gids Nang.
Wij waren er 10 en 11 augustus. Het was geweldig en Nang is ook geweldig!!
Ze herkend alle geluiden, stopt voor alles wat ze ziet. En we hebben zoveel gezien, gibbons, neushoornvogel, pit viper, python, krokodil en nog veel en veel meer. Ook nam ze voor alles ruim de tijd, ook al paste het niet helemaal in het tijd schema. Buiten de dieren is ook de natuur geweldig!
Zeker een aanrader, een van de hoogtepunten van onze reis.

Gisteren zijn we met ons gezin (2 jongens van 16 en 18) terug gekomen van de 3 daagse tour in Huai Kha Kheang begeleid door Ton en Tan samen.
Nadat we 2 jaar geleden al zeer goede ervaringen met hun bedrijf hadden in Khao Yai, waren we blij en verrast dat ze nu tours aanbieden in meerdere parken. We wilden graag naar een meer onontgonnen gebied dan het Khao Yai national park, en hebben na overleg met Ton voor deze tour gekozen.

Het was back to basic, zoals ons van tevoren ook verteld was, en we waren de enige tour in het park en op de camping stonden we geheel alleen. De jungle vonden we minder indrukwekkend dan in Khao Yai, maar dat werd ruimschoots gecompenseerd door de enorme hoeveelheid wild die er zit.

We hebben zoveel gezien, teveel om op te noemen. Spannendste ervaringen waren de olifant die ons pad kruiste tijdens een trekking, dat we sporen vonden van een tijger nog geen 600 meter van onze tent, en de gigantische hoeveelheid schorpioenen die oplichten onder de blacklight zaklamp van Ton. We werden door Ton en Tan in de avond begeleid naar de douches, waarbij Ton voorop liep schijnend met zijn speciale lamp. De eerste avond was dit net na een regenbui, en het hele pad was werkelijk bezaaid met schorpioenen van verschillend formaat en familie. Door het licht worden ze allemaal fluoriserend, wat een spectaculair gezicht was, en waarom we ook begrepen dat we onder begeleiding naar de douches moesten.
Kortom het waren onvergetelijke dagen.

Nogmaals bedankt Ton en Tan, jullie zijn een geweldig koppel.

We zijn 2 dagen op pad geweest met Tata en wat hadden we daar een toppertje aan. Allereerst is hij rustig en beleefd maar wel heel alert. Met als gevolg dat we een super fijne tijd hebben gehad.

De kinderen hadden een heel leuk contact met hem, en dat is met 2 pubers en 2 bijna pubers altijd de vraag. Ze begrepen hem prima en hij kon ze top in het gareel houden.

We hebben beide dagen goed weer en ongelooflijk veel mazzel gehad met het zien van wilde dieren. Helaas geen olifanten of beren, maar desondanks. Even een rijtje? Makaken, verschillende keren gibbons (geweldig!), verschillende soorten neushoornvogels (staan top op de foto dankzij Tata), verschillende hagedissen en dat soort draakjes-achtigen. Een boomkikker, krekels, termieten, een adelaar, een enorme eekhoorn en ook nog een slang en een krokodil. ‘S avonds een chivetkat, gaurs en een stekelvarken. Volop herten, maar die zijn lastig te missen daar J.

We hebben veel gewandeld wat ook voor de kinderen warm, zweterig en super leerzaam was. Bladeren geroken, vruchten geproefd en kennis opgedaan. En als voedsel gediend voor een bloedzuiger.
TOP ERVARINGEN!!

Tussendoor heeft Tata ervoor gezorgd dat we volop water en snackjes kregen en aten en dronken we prima!

Kortom, een dure maar o zo bijzondere trip. Het heeft onze huwelijksreis voor 6 een heel bijzonder tintje gegeven.
Heel veel dank daarvoor!!!

Lieve Ton en Tan,
Ik vond het echt heel leuk bij Jullie.
Het was echt het hoogtepunt van de vakantie.
We hebben zo veel mooie dieren gezien, bijvoorbeeld de gibbons die elkaar aan het vlooien waren, en de bamboeadder. Van een giftige slang heb ik een hele mooie foto kunnen maken.
Ook hebben we neushoornvogels gezien. die waren prachtig.
En dan nog de schorpioenen die we in de avond gingen zoeken die waren echt heel mooi.
Het is heel leuk voor kinderen omdat je heel veel ziet en word bezig gehouden, onder andere door de gidsen die overal voor stoppen en overal wat van af weten.

Ook via jullie gastenboek willen we jullie nog een keer heel erg bedanken voor de geweldige tijd die we met jullie hebben doorgebracht in Kaeng Krachan. Het was, zoals dochter Renee al schreef, zeker het hoogtepunt van een geweldige vakantie in Thailand.
Wat was het bijzonder om mee te maken hoe jullie allebei geconcentreerd door de jungle trokken, gespitst op ieder geluid en elke beweging. Freek in het wild is er niets bij! Hierdoor hebben we ontzettend veel dieren gezien: dusky langurs in allerlei standen (bungelend op een tak, met baby op schoot, etend in een boom...), allerlei soorten slangen en hagedissen, stekelvarkens, een watervaraan, motten met geweldige snuiten, wandelende takken, enorme kikkers, 3 soorten neushoornvogels en als slagroom op de taart een familie gibbons, die elkaar heerlijk aan het vlooien waren.
We vonden het fijn dat jullie voor ieder diertje, groot of klein, de tijd namen. Daarnaast hebben we genoten van jullie verhalen en goed gezelschap, we voelden ons gelijk erg op ons gemak bij jullie. Door de jungle lopen was een unieke ervaring.
Een ontdekking voor ons was het kamperen, we wisten niet dat er in Thailand zo'n levendige kampeercultuur was. En hoe bijzonder is het om wakker te worden bij een boom vol neushoornvogels of voor je tent te zitten met uitzicht op een familie dusky langurs!

We hebben met onze kinderen (11, 13 en 14) de tweedaagse tour in Khao Yai gedaan, met Jay als gids, en het was fantastisch!
Alles ( vervoer, eten) was geweldig verzorgd en het afwisselende programma was precies goed voor ons. Als we flink moe waren van een paar uur wandelen door de jungle, werden we een tijd rondgereden in de jeep om bij te komen.
We zijn bekogeld door gibbons, hebben makaken, varanen, stekelvarkens, neushoornvogels, allerlei insecten, grote spinnen en een civetkat gezien.
Jay was een fijne gids en het was geweldig om te zien hoezeer hij ook zelf genoot van de jungle en de dieren. Omdat mijn zoon het jammer vond dat we geen slang gezien hadden, is Jay in de lunchpauze nog met een andere gids die er een gezien had op zoek gegaan, zodat we toch nog een slang te zien kregen!

Al met al een topervaring!

Thank you so much for our wonderful experience on our 2,5 day tour in Khao Yai National Park. Both the adults and the children loved the hikes and wildlife spotting together with our guide Tata.
We were lucky to see lots of different wildlife and got plenty of explanations about the Thai jungle and the Thai way of life.

We certainly can say this was one of best experiences of our Thailand trip!

Wij hebben de 2,5 daagse tour gedaan en achteraf spijt dat we niet een langere tour hadden geboekt. Vanaf het moment dat Ton en Tan ons ophaalden bij het station hadden wij een perfecte tijd.
Het is bijna ongelofelijk zoveel beesten als Ton weet te vinden, je zou bijna denken dat hij ze er neer heeft gelegd. Wij hebben 40 soorten beesten gezien en dan hebben we de insecten niet eens meegeteld. Gibbons, neushoornvogels, civetkat, stekelvarken teveel om allemaal op te noemen. Daarnaast heeft hij ook heel veel kennis en was hij nooit te beroerd om vragen te beantwoorden. Ook al was het voor de 100ste keer wat het coolste beest was, wat hij ooit had gezien. Thuis wijst Ruben aan iedereen het coolste beest wat Ton heeft gezien aan in zijn dierenencyclopedie ;)
Ook Tan is fijn om bij je te hebben. Zij ziet ook veel beesten, maar heeft daarnaast ook goed voor onze jongens gezorgd. Toen ze merkte dat onze jongste (5 jaar) geen Thais eten lust, nam ze brood en beleg mee, waaronder pindakaas. Onze jongens hebben gesmuld.

Geweldig was het om achter het geluid van gibbons te gaan en ze dan ook echt te zien. Jochem en Ruben spelen nu geregeld dat ze gibbons zijn. Het lopen door de jungle is ook goed te doen voor kinderen. Ton houdt rekening met het tempo en vertelt ondertussen zoveel dat de kinderen zich geen moment vervelen. Tontantravel is dus ideaal als je als gezin Khao Yai wilt bezoeken.

Wow , ik heb een 4 daagse trip in mijn uppie gedaan (khao yai). Woorden schieten te kort over deze mooie dagen.
Ik heb zo genoten , zoveel dieren gezien. Met mijn gids Jay en later Tata klikte het direct.
Zelfs mijn hotel (Khao Yai Cottage) was super.
Overal vriendelijke mensen, heerlijk om je vakantie hier door te brengen.

De organisatie was oké en ik kom dan ook zeker een keer terug bij Tontan Travel

We hebben behoorlijk getwijfeld of we onze rondreis in Azië wilden aanvullen met jullie 3 daagse tour door Khao Yai. Thailand zat namelijk niet in het programma.
Maar via e-mail had je ons enthousiast gemaakt Ton! En omdat het een prachtige aanvulling op de reis zou zijn, hebben we besloten het gewoon te doen! Retourtje Singapore-Khao Yai toegevoegd dus...

En gelukkig maar!
Achteraf gezien was Thailand prachtig. Daar komen we absoluut terug.
Maar bovenal was ons na 3 dagen jungletour wel duidelijk dat het hoogtepunt van onze vakantie alweer achter ons lag.

Misschien hadden we een beetje spijt....dat we niet een dag langer hadden geboekt om die olifanten te zien :-)
Maar ach. 3 dagen is voor kids van 6 en 8 een perfecte duur van de trip. En de python, wilde honden, krokodil, civet kat, apen, plompe lori, neushoornvogel en heel veel andere dieren maakten het allemaal goed.

Bovendien hebben we nu een excuus om snel nog eens voor een tour bij jullie langs te gaan!

We hebben genoten van jullie onvermoeibare passie voor het vinden van dieren. En het was fantastisch hoe jullie omgingen met de kids! In combinatie met een tot in de puntjes verzorgde tour was het voor ons daarom een onvergetelijk avontuur!

Het is al weer een tijdje geleden, maar ik wil toch nog even melden hoe wij de tour ervaren hebben: geweldig!
Terugkijkend vinden we alle 4 dat dit het hoogtepunt van de vakantie was.
- Sabaidee Guesthouse (en directe omgeving) vonden wij gezellig kleinschalig, en daarmee helemaal naar wens
- Gids Tata zag en hoorde zóveel diertjes, dat wij concludeerden dat er wel dummy's in het spel moesten zijn :-) - fenomenaal
- De tips hoe van en naar het park te komen waren correct en nuttig
- Bovenstaande doet veel, maar de natuur zelf heeft ons een prachtig inkijkje gegeven, van cicaden tot olifanten, maar de hoofdprijs was natuurlijk "Python killing Bambi"!

Begin juli een 4-daagse jungle trip gemaakt in Khao Yai NP met Ton en Tan als onze gidsen/begeleiders. Alles tot in de perfectie verzorgt!! Super leuke mensen, die ook verschrikkelijk veel kennis hebben van de Wildlife in het park.
Ze hebben hun uiterste best gedaan om ons (6 man) zoveel mogelijk te laten zien. Dit is gelukt!! Tot en met een paar jonge Kraagberen aan toe. Ik zal jullie bij al mij vrienden en kennissen aanbevelen en ik weet zeker dat ik nog een keer Thailand zal bezoeken en dan weet ik jullie te vinden. Dank voor alles.

All in all - the tour arrangements get a 10 for 10 from us.
We had a great time. The best part of the entire package was Guide Beer and our driver. They made the Khao Yai tour worth the money. Beer clearly knows the park and the wildlife and has a fantastic personality for that position.

The transport arrangements were spot on and we were pleasantly surprised that the drivers stopped for a comfort break both heading there and back. I'm not sure if that is the norm or not but it sure made the trips better.

9-3-2015 Jungletocht gedaan met gids Tata.

Zeer enthousiast en bedreven man. Onbeschrijfelijk dat hij ons op zoveel dieren en planten wees en daar het verhaal bij kon vertellen. Wij hadden maar de helft gezien zonder hem.
Hij vertelde ook over bomen en planten en liet ons een bloem eten, hout dat naar anijs rook ruiken. Het was duidelijk te horen dat hij gepassioneerd was door de natuur.

We voelde zich op ons gemak bij hem en hebben erg genoten van de dag met Tata.

Nog bedankt voor het maken van de mooie foto's met onze camera. Een blijvende mooie herinnering.
We kunnen het iedereen aanraden.

Hi Tony and Tan,

We had a great time in Kaeng Krachan. I'm glad we did this as a tour as it would have been very hard to do this on our own.
We had a very pleasant time with the two of you, it is nice to see that you are still so enthusiastic about the park and the animals. We would have also missed quite a few animals if you wouldn't have pointed them out (including a leopard!). I also loved to get to know more about the wildlife and the jungle from you, that made it a more complete experience.

I never knew you could see so much wildlife in the Thai jungle. Thailand is a much better destination for ecotourism than it is given credit for.
I’ll let you know when we plan our next trip to Thailand. We still have to go to Khao Yai and Huai Kha Khaeng.

Even feedback geven op onze fantastische driedaagse met gids Tata en chaufeur-vogelaar Jungle Jay. Allebei zeer bevlogen en capabel, alsook vooral Tata zijnde een charmante, wat op t eerste zicht timide jongen, mijn Els vond vooral hem een schatje!

Geen moeite was hen teveel om ons met veel enthousiasme en veldkennis de raarste vogels te laten zien. Dat we zoveel diertjes te zien kregen schreven zij beiden volledig voor onze rekening, zijnde dat, omdat wij het meest stille en meezoekende koppel waren dat ze al mee hadden gehad, we hen veel ‘luck & good vibes’ brachten zodat het wild zich liet zien!

We hebben dit als een schoon compliment aanvaard. Zij hebben denk ik ook liever echt geintresseerde mensen mee dan meelopers, zo slaagden wij er de eerste dag al in, met het nodige geduld, tot vlakbij een olifanten groep in de jungle te geraken, de tweede dag beide witte en zwarte gibbons lange tijd te kunnen observeren, en was tata uiterst behulpzaam met het nemen van mooie fotos met onze camera, goud waard die jongen!!

Hij wist ons te verbazen met veel weetjes en kennis van zaken, en liet ons de laatste avond zelfs even in zijn kwetsbare ziel kijken, wat onze Els zeer vertederde.

Ook van de krokodil wist ik zelf enige machtige fotos te maken, die zouden we zonder tata losjes voorbij gelopen zijn, zoals met de meeste dieren het geval zou geweest zijn.

We waren, - zeker nadat we verschillende toeristengroepen waren gepasseerd - trouwens hèèl blij dat we maar alleen waren, al hapte die trip een derde uit ons totale maandbudget, met nog iemand erbij zou het een heel andere ervaring geworden zijn, veel minder intens, en we zagen vooral veel halfongeintresseerde mensen, dus voor ons was het prima zo.

Het was, ook vooral dankzij onze uitstekende gidsen, een boeiende ervaring, en ook de keuze van het guesthouse vlakbij het park was een super optie. Dat was namelijk net wat wij zochten, heel proper, vriendelijke dame, goeie restaurantjes vlakbij, ideaal om 's avonds na de tocht nog even van de lokale sfeer te genieten.

Hopelijk je hiermee wat van dienst geweest te zijn, en nog een merci voor uw goeie communicatie, advies en organisatie, en misschien ontmoeten we elkaar wel eens op een volgende trip.

Good afternoon. We've finally a moment to relax now, and I just wanted to say thank you for an awesome trip. Guide Tata was quite the wizard in spotting all the animals and whipping up some Thai dishes that made me cry (in a good way). Found a gibbon on the first day out, among a number of other cool species.
The food, the views, the cabin, the park and all the animals were excellent. Really an unforgettable trip.
Thanks again!
We're definitley gonna try the other two parks next time we come back :)

In the search of a wellorganised organisation with guide that would show us Kaeng Krachan national park in the beginning of february 2015, I stumbled upon several websites. Of all the e-mails I sent, only Ton and Tan replied. Afterwards I can honestly say that I am very happy that only they replied, because they showed us the park in ways I would have never dreamed of.

We were a group of four wanting to see fauna and flora, animals in their natural habitat, jungles in their original state...

the 3 day tour was very informative and unforgettable. We saw langurs (black and grey), gibbons, porcupines, vinesnakes, a giant king cobra, many kinds of hornbill birds, spiders... the camping was basic, but just what we needed! and we did have a lot of fun on the campsite and in the jungle.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner was all arranged for and everytime it was very good!

Ton and Tan gave us the feeling of being trustworthy, and afterwards we can definately say they were.
Apparently they don't only show Kaeng Krachan, but also other national parks in Thailand, so next time I will be contacting them again!

Ton & Tan, thanks for everything, this was absolutely amazing for us!
En volgende keer brengen we wat kaas uit Nederland mee :-)

Hi Tony & Tan,

We are back in Singapore and still thinking at this wonderful tour we did with Nang (I m not sure if you write her name like this..)
She was just perfect. We did admire her capacity to find birds and show them to us. My husband who is the most used to look for birds was really impressed.
She was so kind with the kids also and wanted everybody to enjoy the tour.

Vegan meal was no problem at all she managed this very well and we did eat tasty and good the whole tour. We only didn't understand that we will sit outside on the car so we had not enough warm clothes, but she did lend us a jacket and a pullover when we traveled on the car.
The driver we had the two first days was also very kind especially with my 8 years old son so I was able to let him with the driver some times when he didn't want to come with us any more in the afternoon.

Can you please ask Nang to send me the photo she took from my children with the elephant? I want to show this to our family and our friends.

We really loved our stay at Khao Yai an we will warmly recommend you to all our friends. I will also rate you on trip advisor with the maximum of stars.

Hoi Ton en Tan,

nogmaals bedankt voor de 3 dagen die we met jullie in Khao Yai National Park mochten doorbrengen. We hebben een aantal mooie wandeltochten en autoritten gemaakt en daarbij veel bijzondere dieren kunnen spotten: de nieuwsgierigheid van de makaken, de reusachtigheid van de olifanten, de als slang verklede rups, het ruisen van de voorbij vliegende neushoornvogels, het zingen van de gibbons, de sporen van de beren, het heeft veel indruk gemaakt.

Al met al zijn we bijzonder goed verzorgd, hebben we mooie foto's kunnen maken, hebben we heerlijk Thais gegeten en komen we graag nog een keer terug!

Hi Ton & Tan,

Hartstikke bedankt voor jullie mooie tour. (Khao Yai, 2-daagse jungle trekking tour van 18-12-'14 t/m 19-12-'14).
We hebben er heel erg van genoten en dat was ook mede dankzij onze leuke vrouwelijke gids, Nang.
Ze kon heel snel vogels en andere dieren spotten en inzoomen met verrekijker en fotocamera.
Helaas hebben we de wilde olifanten niet gezien. Maar....ach....wellicht een volgende keer beter.

Groeten Geert, Jolanda en Erwin. en nog fijne feestdagen en een mooi nieuw jungle-rijk jaar met mooie natuur ervaringen toegewenst.

In oktober sloten we onze vakantie in Laos af met een verblijf in het schitterende natuurpark Khao Yai. Niet helemaal gepland vooraf maar via TonTan konden we op het laatste moment toch nog een tweedaagse trekking boeken. Dat was al top.
Onze gids 'Beer' was geweldig!
We hebben heel veel gezien en fantastische foto's kunnen maken (met dank aan Beer).

Hallo Ton en Tan,

Heel erg bedankt voor de fantastische afsluiter van onze reis door Azië! We hebben een 2,5 daagse tour gedaan door het Khao Yai National Park. We hebben veel dieren gespot, onder andere olifanten en een krokodil!

Een tour bij Ton en Tan is niet alleen even snel een fotootje nemen en weer door, er wordt echt de tijd genomen om de dieren te zoeken en te bekijken. Ton en Tan konden erg veel vertellen over de dieren die we gezien hebben, wat ervoor zorgde dat je naast het bekijken van het mooie dier ook nog veel informatie krijgt over de manier van leven van het dier. Het enthousiasme en de bevlogenheid waarmee ze op zoek gaan naar de dieren en erover vertellen is erg aanstekelijk, wat het een bijzondere tour maakt.

De tour was tot in de puntjes verzorgd, overal was aan gedacht en er hing een gemoedelijke sfeer. Ook het guesthouse dat ze voor ons hadden geboekt is goed bevallen.

Kortom, we raden een tour bij Tontan Travel zeker aan! We hebben fantastische dagen gehad en heel erg genoten van de gastvrijheid en de deskundigheid van Ton en Tan!

De afgelopen twee dagen hebben wij, gezin met twee kids van 13 en 15, een fantastische tweedaagse privetrekking met Ton en Tan van Tontan Travel gemaakt. Ton is een Nederlander die 5 jaar geleden zijn hart aan Tan en Thailand verloren heeft. Het duo is super enthousiast, neemt alle tijd voor jou en de dieren. Veel tours racen voorbij, maar zij nemen echt goed de tijd om dieren te vinden, hier uitgebreid over te vertellen en nemen alle tijd om bij de dieren te blijven. Ook is er ruim voldoende aandacht voor eigen wensen en behoeftes. Lunch en diner adressen zijn lokaal en super lekker.
Het racen hebben wij toch 1 keer ook gedaan, maar dat was om toch nog een gesignaleerde olifant te spotten ;-) , helemaal goed dus!

Samen met Ton en Tan hebben wij diverse soorten Gibbons (wat een geweldig geluid maken deze apen!) gespot, een grote groep neushoornvogels (de grootste soort), herten, zgn blaffende herten, de enige krokodil in het park, slangen, hagedissen, een varaan, vele makaken (ook met jongen), prachtige vlinders, insecten etc. Ook hebben wij de zgn 'blauwe kip' gespot, de nationale vogel van Thailand; de Siamese vuurrugfazant. Natuurlijk mag ik de schorpioen niet vergeten die we op de weg tegenkwamen.
Tijdens de nachtsafari hebben wij een uil, met prooi, diverse herten en een civet gezien. We zullen vast nog een aantal dieren vergeten in deze opsomming :-)
Het is echt ongelooflijk hoe ze deze dieren kunnen vinden! Gaaf.
De eerste dag zijn we van 08.00 tot 22.00 op pad geweest en de tweede, op ons verzoek, van 09.00 tot 18.00.

Kortom, zoek je een jungle trekking met fantastische enthousiaste begeleiding en kennis van zaken die echt de tijd voor de dieren en natuur heeft en neemt? Zoek niet verder en doe het met Tontan Travel!

Last summer (July 2014) I visited Thailand for the first time and as a profound nature lover and passionate wildlife photographer, I booked a full-week trip with Ton & Tan.
We visited both Khao Yai national park and Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary. They hosted and guided me as I was one of their 'team', being very kind and helpful, and most importantly, availed some truly unique wildlife experiences. Getting too close to a sun bathing King Cobra, watching a herd of Banteng for 2 hours from a watch tower, a night drive during a Monsoon down poor, wandering out in the jungle in pitch dark to install for a big cat observation attempt, ...

We hebben echt een super leuke tijd gehad met onze tour naar Khao Yai Park. Onze gids Beer was echt super. Hij deed echt goed zijn best om het ons naar de zin te maken. We hadden echt een prive tour.

We hebben veel dieren gezien dankzij Beer. Ze (hij en zijn vrouw) zijn erg behulpzaam geweest met tips te geven voor de rest van onze reis.
Ook vanuit Ton was er snel reactie en is alles perfect geregeld. Khao Yai Cottage, waar we verbleven, was 1 van de meest verzorgde plekken waar we hebben verbleven. En de mensen waren erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam bij de cottage.

Kortom bedankt voor de goede service en we zullen zeker mensen jullie organisatie aanraden!

We wilden graag een keer een verre reis maken en het spotten van dieren (m.n. Reptielen) was daarbij uitgangspunt nummer 1. Na wat zoeken kwamen we terecht bij TontanTravel. Al onze vragen werden snel en accuraat beantwoord en zo boekten we een 3-daagse tour door de jungle van Khao Yai met de nadruk op het vinden van reptielen.
Dit was absoluut het hoogtepunt van onze vakantie!

We vonden het super dat Ton en Tan zelf 3 dagen met ons op pad gingen. Alles wordt voor je geregeld en je komt echt niks tekort. De deskundigheid, enthousiasme en vastberadenheid van Ton maakt het een toffe trip! Mijn vriend houdt zelf al jaren slangen en reptielen dus het was een "dream come true" om ze nu zelf in de jungle te kunnen spotten. Het is natuurlijk geen dierentuin, maar des te gaver is het als je dan daadwerkelijk dieren aantreft!!
Ik persoonlijk vond het ook leuk om van Tan verschillende dingen te leren over bijvoorbeeld de bloemen en planten en gebruiken van de Thai.

We hebben veel geluk gehad en best veel reptielen gespot! Daarbij nog een soort pootloze salamander die nog niet eerder in het park was waargenomen en een soort das-achtige die nog maar een paar keer gespot was. Er was een dag dat we weinig gespot hadden, maar de omgeving waarin je je begeeft maakt dat helemaal goed, je bent tenslotte in de jungle! Het vinden van olifantensporen of dat je ruikt dat olifanten pas nog op de plek waren waar jij nu staat geeft toch ook een adrenaline kick!

Dit was absoluut iets om nooit te vergeten en voor ons echt een dream come true. Ton en Tan willen we bij deze 1000 bedankjes sturen en we hopen echt nog eens terug te komen!

Back in France we would like to thank you all for the day trip we had in Khao Yai. Tata and Doreen were really amazing on that day!
It's impossible to describe with words how much this tour has moved us.

We want to go back to Thailand as soon as possible and be able to spend 3 or 4 days with them in the park!
We have seen a lot of amazing things during our honeymoon (Angkor, Bangkok and Kho Pha Ngan) but this is one of the most living memories we have. They know the place like the back of their hand, are full of energy and love the park a lot. They are like magicians: out of nowhere, they put the head out of the car's window, stop the car and show us a tiny bird 100m far from where we stand!

We expected that day to be a wonderful experience and were looking forward to it, but we were far to imagine how good it would be.

Zulke lieve mensen die met hun hart en ziel alles over de natuur/jungle/dieren willen vertellen. Service was uitstekend, heerlijke maaltijden en prachtige dieren gezien.

Heb je even 2 dagen dat je de jungle in kan, doen!!
En dan zeker een tour boeken bij deze mensen!!

net terug voor oudejaar in België maar allereerst een woordje van dank voor de goeie begeleiding tijdens mijn trip met jullie in de laatste week van december 2013 in Khao Yai NP. Jullie hielpen mij bijzonder in het spotten van de verschillende vogels en dieren ( Ton is reeds een ervaren spotter, Tan is goed op weg !), en hadden veel begrip voor de moeilijkheden die een amateur fotograaf soms heeft om hiervan een mooi plaatje te nemen ( als de vogel ondertussen uiteraard niet gaan vliegen is ...). Gecombineerd met een paar dagen Bangkok , was dit voor mezelf en mijn echtgenote een ideale combinatie voor een weekje erop uit ( cultuur + natuur + culinaire verwennerij).

Een tip voor reizigers die dit willen overdoen : in december in Khao Yai kan het verdomd koud zijn ( 5 graden 's morgens in een open wagen valt niet mee!)

We are a family of 5, with two adults and three children in the age of 6, 9 and 11. On our two-day tour with TONTAN Travel in Khao Yai we saw many animals, from monkeys and elephants to bats, spiders, many different birds and even a crocodile!
The best thing about the tour was Ton’s enthusiasm for nature and animals in general. He has got such a good eye for spotting animals and as a result, you see much more wildlife than you would see on your own!

If you go to Khao Yai just to see a waterfall, you do not need a guided tour. But if you would like to see the wildlife and to really get an insight into this wonderful national park, booking a tour at TONTAN would definitely be a very good choice!

During our holiday, we were in Bangkok, Khao Yai, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai and we have been in the south at Phuket (swimming pool and sea). When we asked our children what they liked best about our holiday, the tour at Khao Yai proved to be their highlight!

I would highly recommend Tontan travel to anyone looking to see and photograph wildlife in Khao Yai. I have been on dozens of safaris and they are some of the best guides I have ever been with.

They have knowledge of the area and the animals that I would guess is unmatched by other guides. When driving, Ton's ability to hear and find animals is uncanny. He knows the songs of most of the birds and this helped us to find dozens of pretty birds. They also know where to hike to find a ripe fig tree or the area that the gibbons prefer in the afternoon...

They also are committed to the process. I wanted to see a forest scorpion and they were on the lookout for a scorpion hole from the moment they heard that. When they would find one, Ton's ability to lure the scorpion out was fun to watch and even pick it up and hold it shows this is not his first time in the jungle.

Lastly and probably most important is they love looking for wildlife as much as I do. They had the same excitement I did when we would see an elephant in the clearing or a roller in a low tree branch.

I spent 31 days in SE Asia and the best 3 days I had were the 3 days I spent with Ton and Tan in Khao Yai. They are also the best pictures I got on my trip.

Dear Tan, dear Tony,

more than 6 weeks ago we have visited Khao Yai together with you. We are all back at work or at school, but still we are talking about our exciting trip and the fantastic time which we had together with you.

For sure the two days on safari, on the back of your Jeep or walking in the jungle will always last in our memories.
The night safari with all the different animals including the owl, the hunting snake catching the lizard, the gecko family including babies and eggs und finally the successful search for the elephant - all this made these two days the highlight of our holiday in Thailand.
Even the leeches are now a good story to tell :-)

We also very much enjoyed your hospitality and the stories you told us about the animals!

I also would like to thank you very much for the perfect organization of the taxi pick-up and drop-off from our hotel in Bangkok and the booking of the Jungle House. These arrangements made our trip so much easier for us.

I have experienced safari's in Africa and India before but they were uncomparable to the safari we made in Khao Yai. Ton and Tan suprised us in a positive way!
We had a great safari which was definitely a big highlight of our holiday.

Ton and Tan are both super enthousiastic and are eager to show you all the wildlife you want to see. Game drives are combined with jungle walks and they have great knowledge about the wildlife and the area.

We saw a lot of elephants, bamboo vipers, 2 species of gibbon, dholes!! and a lot more. It was an amazing experience, thanks for the great time! We will keep a close eye on the development of your tours to other national parks/ area's in Thailand. So in the future we may contact you again to track down a tiger :)

Bedankt dat ook wij mochten deelnemen aan een geweldige tour van 2 dagen met jullie. Het was een geweldig begin van onze vakantie.

We hebben veel mooie dieren en minstens zulke mooie plekken gezien. Er werd niet geschroomd om van de standaard route af te wijken en op geweldig mooie plekken te belanden. Ook wat dieren betreft waren er spannende momenten. Zoals een zwarte beer die besloot uit de boom te komen wanneer wij in de buurt kwamen en een enorme olifant die midden voor onze auto de weg op kwam.

Daarnaast kunnen de kleine attente dingen natuurlijk niet vergeten worden.
Overal werd aan gedacht zoals een kleine snack na een wandeltocht of een uitgebreid ontbijt met Nederlands broodbeleg zoals hagelslag en pindakaas.

We vonden het achteraf jammer dat wij 2 dagen zijn gegaan en niet langer, er is zo veel te zien en te doen. We zijn ogen en dagen tekort gekomen.

We willen jullie bedanken voor jullie kennis, enthousiasme, en de passie waarmee de tour gegeven is.
Wij zullen deze aan iedereen aanraden!!

Nog steeds genieten wij na van die fantastische dag met jullie en onze 2 meiden.
Wat hebben we genoten. het was absoluut een hoogtepunt van onze vakantie!
Zo veel gezien, waarbij juist alle kleine details die jullie weten en ons lieten zien zo geweldig waren, met de olifanten onder de houten uitkijkplaats waren natuurlijk ook fantastisch.

De afgelopen twee dagen met gids Yoyo in Khao Yai waren fantastisch. Yoyo deed het geweldig, was ook ontzettend leuk met de kinderen. De chauffeur was ook prima.

We hebben twee slangen gespot de afgelopen dagen, naast onder anderen drie olifanten, een tarantula en een aantal grappige apen. Onderstaande foto van de slang is door Hidde gemaakt, die in Khao Yai 9 is geworden. Ondanks mijn grote angst voor slangen zijn we toch op jungletocht gegaan, omdat onze oudste zoon dit zo graag wilde voor zijn verjaardag. Het is uitstekende exposure therapie geweest, want ik ben nu een groot deel van de angst kwijt.

We hebben alle vijf heel erg genoten, ondanks dat onze middelste de eerste dag wat koortsig was. Onze kinderen van 9,7 en 4 hebben het ook geweldig gevonden.

Heel erg bedankt voor de geweldige organisatie.

Wij hebben de 3-daagse tour gedaan.
Niks dan lof voor onze gids Jay, die met hart en ziel voor dit werk gaat en zelf voortdurend een enorme Canon camera meesleept voor de close encounters.
Voor onze puberdochter van 15 waren de wandelingen wel pittig, maar op elk moment is het programma naar eigen wens aan te passen of in te korten waar nodig. Onze zoon van 13 vond het allemaal geweldig, net als wij.

Het is echt zoeken naar wildlife, de dieren staan niet te poseren zoals in een dierentuin. Dit betekent dat je ook best een hoop tijd bezig bent met rijden op zoek naar locaties waar op dat moment wat gebeurt. Uiteindelijk hebben we best een hoop dieren gespot, ook veel insecten in allerhande kleuren en vormen. Bomen in het park zijn ook indrukwekkend.
Het heeft wel echt wat tijd nodig voordat je echt wat dieren ziet, ik kan me voorstellen dat 1 dag echt te kort is en dat je minimaal 2 dagen in het park wilt doorbrengen.

Ons enige echte punt van kritiek was de 'cabin' voor de overnachtingen. In de beschrijving stond wel dat het basic was: "De kamer & badkamer zijn wat verouderd/ geleefd, de bedden zijn hard, maar er is wel een warme douche, en een toilet in de privé badkamer."
Wij vinden dingen al snel acceptabel, maar dit was ons echt te vies en vooral deprimerend. Wij zijn na 1 nacht in een hotel buiten het park gaan slapen, daarbij op de koop toenemend dat je dan wel weer entreegeld moet betalen als je het park opnieuw ingaat. Voor families met kinderen dus geen aanrader.
Voor volwassenen die wat gewend zijn: het is droog en er staat een kneiterhard bed (zonder lakens) dus je kunt er slapen.

Nog steeds lekker vakantie aan het vieren in Cambodja bij mijn broer maar we denken nog met veel plezier terug aan onze 4 dagen met jullie (en Tata) in Khao Yai. Het heeft onze stoutste dromen overtroffen. Helaas de beer net gemist, maar zelf veel gezien en genoten van de deskundigheid en behulpzaamheid van jullie. De wandelingen waren top, rustig tempo om zoveel mogelijk te spotten.

Wij willen zeker de volgende keer dat we op bezoek gaan in Cambodja de reis weer combineren met een bezoek aan Khao Yai en dan zullen jullie de eerste zijn die we mailen.

Ik hoop later nog wat foto's te mogen ontvangen want ik weet bijna zeker dat jij op sommige momenten betere foto's hebt gemaakt dan wij.

Ton en Tan, wat hebben wij genoten van jullie en van alle mooie dingen die jullie ons hebben laten zien!!!

Wij, ik, mijn man en twee zoontjes van 10 en 8 hebben de 2,5 daagse tour gedaan. Het grote avontuur begon direct, in de pick up naar de heldere waterbron. Prachtig maar zelfs daar waren mijn zoontjes met Ton al dieren aan het spotten. Dat zou wat beloven voor de komende dagen!!

De vleermuizengrot en de trektochten door de jungle waren spannend en intensief maar echt de moeite waard. Wat hebben wij spannende momenten beleefd!!
Tontantravel is echt een aanrader! Ze zorgen ervoor dat je net die specialere plekjes krijgt te zien dan de standaard plekken.

Ton en Tan zijn super met kinderen, het was natuurlijk top dat ze gewoon in het Nederlands konden praten. Ze hadden dan ook heel veel vragen maar die werden allemaal beantwoord door Ton en Tan. Tijdens de tochten werd elk hol ontdekt en probeerde ze zelfs het diertje naar buiten te laten komen. Vaak lukte dit en één keer zat het dier zelfs op mijn zoon zijn hand!! Van elk beest werd op een fraaie wijze een foto gemaakt door Ton, dat vonden de kinderen super om terug te zien tijdens de lunch.

Aan het einde van de tour wilde mijn oudste zoon niets liever dan bij Ton en Tan blijven gedurende de rest van de vakantie! Hij vond het zo geweldig!!

Great tour in Khao Yai National Park with guide J. Visited in 2013 and had one of the most memorable days ever! Thanks!
J was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful and made the tour feel very personal, being in the outdoors, learning about the strangling fig trees, seeing the wildlife, from the gibbons, to the elephants, even the beetles!
The experience was fantastic, would highly recommend and definitely hope to return for further tours!

Dear Tony and Tan,

Thanks so much for hosting all seven of us (my husband and three children and my parents from New Zealand) in March this year. We had an absolutely amazing time and our 2 days with you was a highlight of Mum and Dad's trip.

Tony's unbelievable proficiency at spotting even the smallest of creatures is extraordinary (but you should wear sunglasses!), beautifully balanced by Tan's calm presence and kindness to our children.

We made a list of our favourites, and the top 5 were the giant porcupine, great hornbill, green pit viper, the civet, and of course in top place, the elephant.

You both went to such a great effort to help us see these animals - thanks so much.

I really enjoyed the all day tour and night safari during my trip to Thailand at the end of March. We saw more wildlife than I expected to see. Your knowledge of the different species and passion for wildlife is remarkable. The trek through the jungle was quite worthwhile, as we saw many creatures we would not have seen otherwise.

The only disappointment was not seeing elephants, although I understand sometimes that’s the case. I’ll always remember spotting the Gibbons, Great Hornbill, Giant Squirrel, Monitor Lizards, Water Dragon, Crocodile, Pit Vipers, Sambar, and several other species. I’ll try to think of you if I’m ever in Thailand again.

Heyy Ton en Tan!

Wij vonden het echt een super tour, heel gaaf!
De 3 nachten in het tentje op de camping was ook een leuke ervaring! Na zo'n lange dag vol ervaringen sliepen we heerlijk.
Wat een prachtig park vol met verschillende uitzichten.

We hebben aardig wat verschillende dieren mogen zien. Onder andere de gibbons, de neushoornvogel, slangen en een krokodil! Ook de watervallen en de vleermuizengrot waren prachtig!

4 dagen is zeker een aanrader om alles in het park te kunnen zien. Als je optimaal van dit park wil genieten zeker boeken bij Ton, alles was top geregeld!

Ton en Tan nogmaals bedankt voor deze onvergetelijke ervaring en heel veel succes!

Twee werkweken verder, dringt eenmaal ‘s avonds thuis, de herinnering naar de jungle zich nog steeds weer naar voren. Heerlijk! We kijken terug op een geweldige 4 dagen met jullie. Het lopen in de jungle en al het leven om je heen voelen geeft zoveel energie!!.
Jullie zien en horen echt alles Ton. En Tan was zo lief en attent en er was alle tijd foto’s te maken. Het is heel gemakkelijk je bij jullie thuis te voelen.

We hebben veel grote dieren gezien maar ik doe er graag wat foto’s bij van de prachtige kleine schatten in de natuur die het mede tot zo’n groot succes maakten. Mijn wens om de plompe lori te zien is ook zelfs in vervulling gegaan, al was het in het donker door een lamp beschenen. En de stekelvarkens zijn zo koddig om te zien, de civetten en de vele mooie vogels waren ook geweldig.
Tot slot nog een tip voor mensen die een zacht matras nodig hebben. Neem een zwembadluchtbedje van 1 kg mee ;-))

We did the Khao Yai All-Day and Night Safari tour with this tour company in October. I wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful experience!

We loved our trek through the jungle as we spotted some amazing animals and beautiful wildlife. Our tour guide took great care to make sure we got the most out of our experience.
We saw great horn-bills, lizards, a porcupine, and even some wild elephants!

Though it has been 2 months, the experience I had with u at Khao Yai still remains vivid and was awesome!
The entire 2days 1night tour was remarkable. Never did you miss a chance to spot the slightest movement of the monkeys moving high up in the branches with your hawk eye, nor did you miss the call outs of the various species around. You made sure I did not miss out any great opportunity in catching a glimpse of any wildlife in hiding too!

I have learnt many new things as you shared your knowledge from trees to land and the species we met.

Your thoughtfulness and sensitivity made me felt comfortable and safe during the trip.

Zijn gister terug gekomen uit thailand, en hebben een fantastische reis gemaakt met onze 2 zonen joris en luuk, 17 en bijna 14 jaar oud.
We hebben heel veel leuke dingen meegemaakt, en daar van was deze tour van 3 dagen er een van.

We hebben heel veel gezien, spannende momenten meegemaakt, en heel veel geleerd van Tsjiep, Ton en Tan.
Wat hebben jullie een kennis in huis, en jullie waren ook werkelijk onvermoeibaar, zelfs als we zaten te eten was Ton, met of zonder zaklantaarn, nog op zoek naar dieren.
We hebben 2 nachten overnacht in de cabins op het park, en dat was redelijk te doen.
Kortom, bedankt dat we met jullie op stap mochten in dit stuk prachtige natuur van Thailand.

We are 2 families from Israel that had 3 wonderful days with Tan & Tony at Khao Yai.

From the first moments of our 3 days tour, we knew that Tan & Tony are not the typical tour operators & that we are in good hands.
We came to the park's entrance few minutes before the due time & were under the impression that we have sufficient time to wander around, as punctuality has its own meaning in Thailand. However, it was only few seconds afterward, when Tony got out of their Pick-Up, armed with his Camera & with a smile.

Needless to say, that from the first moment until the very last second of our trip, Tony was fully dedicated to present us the wonders of Khao Yai, its fauna, flora & wildlife, while Tan was caring for the tours logistics & from time to time reminded us all that there is a lot more to see & that we should continue to our next stop, while doing that with grace & a charming smile.

The Jungle walks were an extra- ordinary experience. But the real fun was to see the kids, which were literally enchanted by Tony & Tan & followed them like shadows in the jungle's trails & were highly enthusiastic from every plant & animal.

One of the most fun activities was the Night Safari.
Indeed we did not see wild elephants during our visit, but we had the chance to see many other interesting animals, such as Asian Wild Dogs, Crocodile, Porcupines, Hornbills & Gibbons.

Net terug uit Thailand blikken we terug op een fantastische reis, met de twee dagen in Khao Yai met jullie als een van de absolute hoogtepunten!
We hebben van elke minuut genoten. Wat een prachtige natuur, wat hebben we geweldig veel wilde dieren gezien en dat allemaal dankzij jullie. Want zelf hadden we op zeker heel veel gemist.
Ton, jij met je geoefende oog ziet echt alles en daar mochten wij van mee profiteren!
Onze dochters van 11 en 8 hebben het er nog veel over en vertellen thuis natuurlijk de stoerste verhalen.

Nogmaals heel veel dank voor de topdagen en we zullen Ton Tan Travel hier in NL warm aanbevelen!

Op de avondsafari zagen we hoe Aziatische Wilde Honden net een paardhert hadden gedood. Wat een geluk, of pech (voor het hert)!

Hoi Ton en Tan,

We hebben met 3 volwassenen en 5 pubers 3 dagen met jullie doorgebracht in de jungle van Khao Yai. Het was echt een superervaring om zoveel wilde dieren in het wild te spotten. Dat kwam vooral door jullie: Ton, jij ziet werkelijk álles... ongelooflijk. De olifant, slangen, stekelvarkens, gibbons, slangenarend, makaken, de zeer zeldzame Siamese krokodil en natuurlijk de prachtige neushoornvogels. Ook de urenlange uittocht van de vleermuizen was geweldig en niet te vergeten het zwemmen in de heldere bron.
Verder waren we heel erg blij met de pindakaas en hagelslag op geroosterd brood.

Door jullie enthousiasme en betrokkenheid hebben wij een vakantie in Thailand gehad waarvan deze dagen toch wel verreweg het mooiste waren. Als we weer in Thailand komen zullen we zeker weer een meerdaagse tour bij jullie doen!

Ton en Tan

Het waren 2 super dagen. We hadden nooit gedacht dat we olifanten, varanen, gibbons, een krokodil en zoveel meer zouden zien. De nacht in de jungle was basic maar heel goed om in de sfeer te blijven. De uittocht van de vleermuizen was ongelofelijk! Jullie waren perfecte gidsen met een hart voor de natuur. Ton je zag/hoorde werkelijk alles! Door jouw gedrevenheid werd je automatisch aangezet om mee op zoek te gaan naar dieren.
